TRAINING. WORKSHOPS AND COACHING

Training

Our training and workshops and coaching is specific to the problem we are solving on the one hand and for specific themes like distributed and teleworking on the other.

In our view it makes NO sense to train your employees on standard O365 functionality. This will be “just another training” and they will forget 95% the next day. We provide specific training based on your To Be use cases so your employees can apply 100% directly to their daily business. Less is more.

We have an extensive list of workshops related to improving tele and distributed working. Click below to see the details.

Distributed working Workshops

We have clustered our workshops into six categories. Promote Wellbeing, Improve Communication, Build and Maintain Working Relationships, Leader Development, Employee Development and Team Development.

Maximize Your Distributed Team’s Success: Strategies to Thrive When Working Together, Apart

 Our Facilitation Approach

Designed to be highly interactive, our workshops are facilitated using a combination of presenting and interaction in dyads and small breakout groups. We strive to ensure that participants are provided with a learning opportunity that is not only directly applicable to their workplace, but also immediately actionable. As such, we take care to ensure that each workshop we offer is directly customized to the needs of your organization. We encourage tie-ins to the organization and to the unique challenges faced within your industry.

Our Audience

The majority of our workshop offerings are designed to be customized and appeal to a variety of audiences, focusing on common concerns or challenges experienced by distributed workers across an organization. In addition, we offer a number of workshops and corresponding assessments directly tailored to the needs of either leaders, teams, or employees. Consideration is also given to the length of time participants have spent working in a distributed environment, such that content can be adapted depending on whether participants are new to or considering distributed work, or have been working remotely or flexibly for some time.

Our Workshops

Workshop offerings can be facilitated either in person and from a distance in order to best meet your needs. Each session is typically offered as either a half-day or 2-hour workshop, though many can be customized for timing or offered in a modular style as needed. Participants who attend a workshop offering will leave with a comprehensive workbook of materials and key takeaways from the session.

Promote Wellbeing Workshops

Blurred Boundaries: Strategies to Balance Work and Life in the Distributed Workplace

Session Overview:

Although distributed work is often cited as a means by which to improve work-life wellness, the ability to work when and where one is most effective can blur the boundaries between work and life. Effectively managing this balance is critical to the success of distributed work arrangements, from both an individual and organizational perspective.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will learn how to utilize different strategies to leverage the flexibility of distributed work, walking away with strategies to achieve and promote healthy work-life wellness.

How To Successfully Transition to a Distributed Workplace

Session Overview:

As organizations increasingly move towards more distributed workspaces and work styles, employees, leaders, and teams remain apprehensive about these changes. Learn what is myth and what is reality when it comes to common fears about distributed working.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will become familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities presented by distributed work and learn strategies that will help ready both them and their team for the transition.

Improve Communication

The Do's & Don’ts of Communication in the Distributed Workplace

Session Overview:

Communication involves more than just talking to others. This is especially important in the distributed workplace where face to-face interactions may be reduced or limited, and communication must be more planned and deliberate to be effective.

Learning Outcomes:

Discover strategies to communicate accessibility and support, develop and maintain personal relationships, and to tailor communication to tasks and individuals.

Communicating with Purpose in the Distributed Workplace

Session Overview:

The modern employee relies on a variety of communication and collaboration technologies to get the job done. However, most organizations have adopted new technologies without adequately training employees on the key capabilities necessary to effectively leverage different media for success.  When face-to-face interactions may be reduced or limited, communication must be more thoughtful, planned, and deliberate.

Learning Outcomes:

Attendees will walk away with important information about common communication mistakes, and practical tips and tools for communicating effectively by learning how to best match the communication media to their purpose.

Making Effective Use of electronic communication in the Distributed Workplace

Session Overview:

The modern worker (both traditional and distributed!) is required to effectively navigate and manage online communication. Many people wonder whether it’s even possible to stay on top of the constant messages, requests, and communications.

Learning Outcomes:

Employees can learn and implement practical strategies that align with their individual personalities, workstyles, and job tasks to effectively utilize this communication method while working.

Build and Maintain Working Relationships

Managing Conflict When Working Apart

Session Overview:

Conflict in the distributed workplace is inevitable – reliance on electronic communication can increase the opportunity for misunderstandings and exacerbate or prolong conflict. However, not all conflict is bad! Expressing and debating ideas is important for success, but it’s critical to learn how to separate healthy from unhealthy conflict.

Learning Outcomes:

Learn key strategies to proactively manage and resolve conflicts, while continuing to engage differing perspectives in distributed work environments.

Trust: The Key to Thriving in the Distributed Workplace  Session Overview:

Successful distributed work requires a foundation of trust. The paradox is that trust is more difficult to achieve in these types of environments. But, trusting relationships are within reach!

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will review the critical behaviours necessary to maintain trust, and then explore beyond “not damaging trust”

Leader Development

Leading in the Distributed Workplace: Key Behaviours of Effective Leaders

Team Development

Maximize Your Distributed Team’s Success: Strategies to Thrive When Working Together, Apart

Session Overview:

Maintaining and developing effective teamwork and collaboration presents a significant challenge for distributed workers and leaders. Success depends on the three C’s: communication, collaboration, and coordination. By recognizing and implementing strategies to leverage the three C’s, teams can improve their engagement, accountability, and overall performance.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will discover how to maximize each of the three C’s and learn how the team’s climate interacts to contribute to a healthy distributed team environment.

Optional:

For teams ready to address their distributed challenges or take their distributed teamwork to the next level, assess, and debrief those groups individually with the Distributed Team Diagnostic. Online assessment must be completed on week prior to the session.  Upward feedback and individual debrief for leader also an option.
